Privacy policy
Nothing you record leaves your device unless you send it somewhere.
Where your recordings live
In Waffle Iron's own folder on your iPhone or iPad. You'll find them in the Files app under On My iPhone or On My iPad, and you can copy them off whenever you like. They're included in your device backups. Deleting the app deletes them, so save anything you want to keep first.
What we collect
Nothing. There's no account, no sign-in, and no way for us to see your recordings, because Waffle Iron doesn't send them anywhere. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking of any kind, and we aren't counting your taps.
The microphone
Used while you're recording, and not otherwise. When a recording stops, Waffle Iron lets go of the microphone, which is what the orange dot in your status bar is telling you about. It should go out when you stop.
Writing down what you said
Every take gets transcribed on the device itself, so you can search a recording, read a part back, and cover rude words with a tone. Your voice isn't sent to us or to anyone else to do it, and it works in flight mode.
When you share something
Saving or sharing a finished recording hands it to whatever you pick: Files, Mail, a podcast host, another app. From that point it's covered by that service's rules. Waffle Iron doesn't share anything on its own.
Children's recordings
The same as for everyone else. Nothing is collected, so there's nothing held about a child either. No advertising, and no links out to social networks.
If this changes
This page changes with it, and the date above says when it was last true. We can't start collecting something quietly, because collecting anything at all needs a new version of the app.
